The Board of Salamander Group announced today that it has appointed Mark Todman as the company’s new Managing Director. Dr Todman will take up his appointment with Salamander Group from the 16th January 2012.

Dr Todman brings proven commercial and business development skills coupled with a strong technical environmental background. Mark’s appointment signals Salamander Group’s intention to accelerate the global marketing of its suite of continuous environmental data monitoring products.

“Mark’s strong commercial experience and recent business developmental role at a large UK FTSE 50 support services group, matches perfectly with the current commercial push by Salamander’s board,” said Mike Foster, Salamander Group Chairman.

“I am very excited to be joining Salamander Group,” Dr Todman said. “The need for extensive environmental monitoring is growing globally providing rich market opportunities for a company like Salamander to exploit . With drinking water quality and related homeland security concerns and the issues surrounding exploitation of Shale and Coal Seam Gas reserves, Salamander’s current range of products are very well placed.”

In making the announcement, Salamander Group Chairman Mike Foster acknowledged the contribution of former Managing Director Steve Boult: “Steve founded the business over 10 years ago and has fulfilled the role of Managing Director of Salamander Group’s current incarnation since 2005 while continuing his research role at the University of Manchester. During this period Steve has continued to develop and improve on core product offerings of the group.

With the present need for a full-time MD Dr Boult will remain as a Director of Salamander Group as well as continuing his role at the University of Manchester. Dr Boult will continue to provide technical and academic input to all our clients to facilitate the full commercial exploitation of our industry leading products.
